I Hear Words As I Walk By Myself Across Fields

I Hear Words As I Walk By Myself Across Fields

The older I get the more frequently I find myself turning to nature.

To immerse myself in the natural world, its colours, its sounds and its smells, is to feel that I am somewhere that I actually belong. It gives me satisfaction, joy even at times, to walk away from civilisation, from people and houses and noise, noise, noise, and to head towards something simpler.

And as much as I love people, and I do, I really do, I also need to be away from them to allow myself time to think and just be me.

I feel a calling, if that is what it really is, that now is the time to consider change. An urge to embrace these feelings, these emotions or whatever they may be, and to gently ease my life around. To move away from a life entrenched in the urban and grow new roots into soil without concrete

And this voice, these words that I hear as I walk, it tells me what I think I already know but am too nervous to actually discuss with myself - to surround myself by things that matter and do what is right for me.
