Kodachrome Memories In The Blink Of An Eye

Kodachrome Memories In The Blink Of An Eye

It’s that word again.

Grey.

Our world, right now, is that.

Oh, and it’s colder today and, almost certainly, likely to be wet a little later.

And when I look out of my window, well, I can’t help but recall Christmas Eve memories that seem to be so much brighter and more joyous that those we will take from this one.

But that is the hand we have all been dealt.

For as much as a pandemic and political chaos is making our world seem anything but colourful right now, the brightness will return.

Because nothing lasts forever.

Good times pass and so do bad.

The colour of Christmases past will suffice, will have to, for this year at least.

And they all seemed so different, back then, in my mind. Remembering them, like my childhood, as a home movie, on flickering old-fashioned cine film, viewed through a projector that my Dad had spent hours setting up in the living room.

Those days, they passed like the blink of an eye, and thankfully, these will too.
