And Then, Of Course, I Chose To Ignore It

And Then, Of Course, I Chose To Ignore It

We are told to live in the now, to face the future and never look back.

We are told many things in this life, of course, and some of them may even be true.

Today though, I chose to ignore all advice. For once, I decided to not just look back but to actually go back.

Driving past a place that I have driven past before, I realised that I had never really seen it. Noticed, yes, but never properly seen. A place so quintessentially English with it’s old-fashioned village green, church and pond.

So I turned around, went back and stopped a while.

It was quiet, of course, but that added to its charm.

An English village in the early spring sunshine.

Many would think that it doesn’t get much better than this. And that view could well be accurate.

And for a moment, it was almost possible to imagine that we were living in normal times.
