Me Neither

“Me neither,” she said, when he answered her honestly, and they both knew the power of what they had shared.

She paused for a second, though it felt a lot longer, and like a scene from a film, met his eyes and continued.

“I see things in people, don't know how, I just do,” and she left it there, hanging, heavy in their presence.

And the world stopped turning, just then, for a moment.

They felt it and realised no-one else mattered.

“It's funny,” she said, “what I see at such times.”

He nodded and knew she could see right through his soul.
